Yoga

What is it?
Imagine an activity that increases your flexibility, strengthens your muscles, centers your thoughts and relaxes your mind. A session of Yoga could be just what your body is “asking” for. During a Hatha Yoga practice, you will lengthen and tone muscles, strengthen your core, and define a sense of balance, both inside and out. So if you are looking for a way to ensure your overall health and physical fitness, try a Yoga class. Your mind and body will be grateful.

Describe a typical class
- Hatha Yoga literally means “Yoga of Poses” or Asanas. We typically begin with a warm-up, then move to standing poses, balance work, followed by strength (using your own body’s resistance).
- We then work on flexibility, core strength, and finally we end with Savasana or deep relaxation.
- Incorporated throughout the practice is Pranayama or breathwork.
- Practice Yoga on a regular basis to promote harmony and balance. Namaste!
